About Us

Welcome to Life Church- Main Street Preschool, a leading community-focused preschool located in Elyria, Ohio. We are proud to be affiliated with St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, a pillar of faith and committed service in the community for over 150 years. Our preschool aims to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where children aged 2 to 5 years can develop their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills while fostering a strong foundation of faith.

Our Mission

At Life Church- Main Street Preschool, our mission is to inspire young minds, promote spiritual growth, and prepare children for a successful future. We strive to create a safe and loving space where children can explore, question, and discover the world around them. Our dedicated team of qualified teachers and staff is committed to providing a holistic educational experience that integrates Christian values, academic excellence, and social-emotional development.

Preschool Programs

We offer a range of preschool programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our students:

1. Toddler Program (Ages 2-3)

Our Toddler Program focuses on nurturing the early development of your child through hands-on activities, play, and interactive learning experiences. Our skilled teachers create a warm and stimulating environment that encourages positive social interaction, language development, and sensory exploration.

2. Pre-K Program (Ages 4-5)

Our Pre-K Program provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. Through a balanced blend of structured lessons and engaging activities, we foster early literacy, numeracy skills, critical thinking, creative expression, and problem-solving abilities. We also introduce age-appropriate faith-based teachings and encourage values such as kindness, respect, and empathy.

Curriculum and Approach

Our curriculum is thoughtfully crafted to meet the developmental needs of each child, promoting growth across various domains:

1. Cognitive Development

We encourage intellectual curiosity and a love for learning through a rich variety of age-appropriate activities, puzzles, storytelling, sensory experiences, and hands-on projects. Our curriculum integrates language development, early math concepts, science exploration, and imaginative play to stimulate cognitive development.

2. Social and Emotional Development

Building positive relationships, empathy, and self-confidence is essential during the preschool years. Through cooperative play, group discussions, collaborative projects, and emotional literacy exercises, we foster social and emotional growth, helping children develop vital skills for navigating friendships, resolving conflicts, and expressing themselves constructively.

3. Faith Formation

As an Episcopal church-affiliated preschool, we strive to instill a foundation of faith and Christian values in our students. We integrate age-appropriate religious teachings, stories, songs, and celebrations into our curriculum, creating opportunities for children to explore spirituality, kindness, compassion, and gratitude.

Enrolling your child at Life Church- Main Street Preschool is a simple and straightforward process. We welcome families from all backgrounds and beliefs. To secure a spot for your child, please complete our online application form or contact our admissions office to schedule a tour of our facilities and meet our dedicated team.

Community Involvement

Being an integral part of the Elyria community, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and Life Church- Main Street Preschool actively participate in various community service initiatives, charity events, and outreach programs. We believe in fostering a sense of social responsibility and teaching children the importance of giving back to their community.
